The Victron Energy Smart BatteryProtect can be used to prevent damage to batteries from over-discharge (when programmed appropriately) and may also be used as a unidirectional remote switch, either via external relay signal switch or via the VictronConnect app, which may be used for remote monitoring, programming, and control through the device's built-in Bluetooth module. Available in multiple current ratings; select your model above!

The Victron Energy Smart BatteryProtect 12/24V is similar to the original BatteryProtect 12/24V models but now comes with bluetooth so that you can pair with your smartphone devices.

As a stand-alone device, the Victron Smart BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from non-essential loads at your programmed voltage thresholds so that essential loads are prioritized. It can also be triggered by another monitoring component, such as a BMS, a common SPST switch, or even through the VictronConnect app.

Please note that this device is unidirectional in operation; it must be connected between battery and load or charger and battery in strict accordance with installation instructions. Failure to follow the installation instructions may void the device warranty and cause component or system failure.

12/24V auto ranging
The Smart BatteryProtect automatically detects system voltage upon first connection.

Programming made easy
The Smart BatteryProtect can be programmed via the VictronConnect app to engage / disengage at multiple voltage thresholds to meet your system needs.

A special setting for Li-ion batteries
In this mode the Smart BatteryProtect can be controlled by the VE.Bus BMS.

Ultra low current consumption
This is important in case of Li-ion batteries, especially after low voltage shutdown.

Over voltage protection
To prevent damage to sensitive loads due to over voltage, the load is disconnected whenever the DC voltage exceeds 16V in 12V operation mode or 32V in 24V operation mode.

Ignition proof
No relays but MOSFET switches, and therefore no sparks.

Delayed alarm output
The alarm output is activated if the battery voltage drops below the preset disconnect level during more than 12 seconds. Starting the engine will therefore not activate the alarm. The alarm output is a short circuit proof open collector output to the negative (minus) rail, max. Current 50 mA. The alarm output is typically used to activate a buzzer, LED or relay.

Delayed load disconnect and delayed reconnect
The load will be disconnected 90 seconds after the alarm has been activated. If the battery voltage increases again to the connect threshold within this time period (after the engine has been started for example), the load will not be disconnected. The load will be reconnected 30 seconds after the battery voltage has increased to more than the preset reconnect voltage.
