Raymarine ST2000+ Tillerpilot

For tiller-steered boats to 10,000 lbs

Availability: In stock

Product Description

Autohelm introduced the first tiller pilot in 1974, and was acquired by Raytheon (later Raymarine) in 1990. The ST1000+ and ST2000+ autopilots are the latest iterations of the series. Either one can be used alone, requiring only a 12v power source, or can communicate with your other navigational gear with it's SeaTalk/NMEA interface. Six pushbuttons, coupled with a 2" LCD screen, make standalone operation easy. An autotack feature tacks the boat while you handle the sheets.

According to Raymarine, the ST1000 is for boats up to 6,600 lbs, and the ST2000 is for boats up to 10,000 lbs. From a practical standpoint, we think tiller pressure should be considered in your choice. If you have a balanced rudder requiring very little effort, or it's transom-hung on a very light boat, either unit will suffice. If you have an unbalanced, transom-hung rudder that requires a lot of effort, you'll be better off with the ST2000.

The ST1000 has a maximum thrust of 125 lbs, the ST2000 has a maximum of 169 lbs. Both autopilots can be set for port or starboard operation, and require 10-16 volts DC. Tiller pin and pilot mounting socket are included. The pilots are covered by a 2-year limited warranty. For more information, see the owner's manual.

For lighter boats, see the ST1000+.
